Overview
Amid the political upheaval from the 1970s through the post–Cultural Revolution era, Chen Zhi, his devoted fiancée Cuihua, and his former classmate Xiuluo become caught in a struggle of power, integrity, and betrayal when corrupt county leader Ma Qingsheng sees Chen Zhi’s rising career as a threat.
