Set in a fictitious duchy in medieval France. This is the story of how the son of an earl grows up as he searches for the truth about the death of his first love. Lucian, the son of an earl, receives secret orders to look into the truth of the circumstances regarding the execution of Lady Charlotte, a noblewoman who married into a neighboring duchy. Charlotte was executed for the suspicious murder of her husband, Lord Garnier.
